Be apart of our Head Start Storytelling Campaign, when you nominate an inspiring story from your program!

As directors, teachers, staff, and parents in Head Start programs, you know that Head Start makes an immediate and profound impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families, and sparks lifelong change. Everyday, you see countless individual stories that show the impact and effectiveness of Head Start.

Nominate a Head Start child or family from your program who has changed over the course of the past year thanks to the Head Start Advantage! Here’s what you have to do:

1.) Fill out the nomination form below to nominate a child or family. 

2.) Wait for your Community Action Agency Head Start to follow up with you to gather more information.

3.) Watch for your Community Action Agency Head Start to post these amazing stories on social media and then share with stakeholders in your community!

We will interview these story leads and then create testimonial videos, first-person written accounts, and other creative storytelling materials to be shared by the Head Start community and our partners. Our Community Relations team may also highlight these stories in local media outlets.

Change does not have to be dramatic to be important! For example, teacher’s often see an improvement in children’s behavior, thanks to the routine and stability Head Start brings to their lives. Children may have flourished in some way, such as catching up with their peers in cognitive skills or other developmental milestones.

Parents—many of whom are experiencing crises—often benefit from the support and parenting skills training Head Start provides. Over the course of a year, they may have been empowered to be more involved in their child’s development, they may gone back to school, or may be furthering their career goals.

Whatever the positive change, we want to hear about it!
