Dear Families,
Every week we review the COVID status of our community. As of Thursday, October 1st, we were informed that the Hamilton County Commissioner has updated the county status to “red” on the public health advisory map as it relates to the coronavirus. Initially the decision was made to start in-person learning with restrictions on October 12, 2020, but with this new status we are going to revisit the Smart Restart plans and make the decision about in-person learning on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. This will give us time to review the data and trends to determine the safest option for you, your child and our staff. If the public health advisory is still “red” and COVID cases are trending up, it will be unlikely that we will open for in- person services.
Regardless of our in-person status, we will still offer a virtual option to families and if families are experiencing difficulties with connections we have ordered tablets that can be check out and used for families enrolled in the program. We will have these available on October 19, 2020.
We know this has been difficult for many families. We encourage you to take advantage of our services and programming offered at this time such as:
- Timeout Tuesday
- Ready Rosie Parenting Curriculum
- Meal Pick-Up
- Virtual learning boxes
- Speech and Language Screening
- Policy Council Book Club
We will continue to expand and enhance these offerings as they are developed. Please contact your center locations for dates for meal pick-ups and learning boxes or check our web page for additional offerings specific to your child’s age and location.
Again, let me thank you for your support and understanding as we, as a community and a nation, have responded to the sweeping impact of COVID-19 since March.
Sincerely,
Renee Y. Daniel
