Head Start at Cincinnati Community Action Agency has a new look! The overall branding goal was to distinguish the program with modern appeal, build recognition and stronger alignment to CAA.
This year we are partnering with Possip to hear your voice and make decisions with your feedback in mind. Soon, you will start receiving text messages and emails bi-weekly from Possip asking a few key questions about your experience, needs, ideas, and questions. The Pulse Checks take one minute to complete and are sent as often as once a week. You can include your name or stay anonymous. Your direct feedback will be shared with the Head Start leadership teams. We are so excited to elevate your voices to strengthen our Head Start program and transform the school experience!
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) awarded $1.5 million to CHCCAA's Head Start Program for services encompassing early learning and development, health, and family well-being for infants and toddlers and their families.
Spring is now in session! Head Start centers will be closed beginning Monday, March 22 - Friday, April 2, 2021 for spring break!
Every week we review the COVID-19 status of our community. Since there has been a decline in COVID-19 cases and vaccinations are underway; we have decided to reopen for in-person teaching on Monday, February 22, 2021. We will still offer a virtual option to families who are not ready to return to the centers.
Due to the constantly changing public health conditions and safety guidelines beyond our control, we have made the decision to delay opening for in-person service. On February 3, 2021, we will be review the health information for our community and make a decision about opening on February 20, 2021.
We will be effectively closing on Thursday, November 19, 2020 and re-opening on January 20, 2021. Our number one priority is to keep our families and staff safe and to do our very best to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 within our communities.
Every week we review the COVID status of our community. Initially the decision was made to start in-person learning with restrictions on October 12, 2020, but with this new status we are going to revisit the Smart Restart plans and make the decision about in-person learning.
Be assured, we have been working diligently updating and revising our Smart Restart Plan. Given the extensive information needed to plan as COVID-19 as issues emerge, the comprehensive Smart Restart Plan will be released to families and staff by August 24, 2020.
Community Action Agency - Cincinnati | Hamilton County Head Start students at the Life Learning Center classroom 110 enjoyed receiving toothbrushes from their friendly giant teeth mascots on the morning of February 11, 2020. The excitement was followed up by on-site dental cleanings.

Our Winton Campus Early Learning Academy Head Start Center held a Career Day & Open Enrollment Fair for families this past Friday, January 24th, 2020. The theme was "My Community" and was an opportunity for families to meet community professionals.
